I found it......I finally found it.........

my missing digital camera.... :-)))))  YIPPEE!!!!  It is a clear sign, that I am finally making progress on the declutter project.

I lost it in my yarn storage room....a little over 8 months ago, and after days spent searching for it...depression over how damaging my clutter had become...I gave up and bought a new one!  A red one, which is so bright in color it is hard to lose.  The bad news is I now have TWO digital cameras, plus my clunky original.  What do you do with old digital cameras......does anyone know?

How many cameras do you own?  How many do you actually use?  I have an old yashica 35 mm with all the paraphenalia, at least 3 other cameras....a polaroid......and I only use my digital.  This is the perfect example of how our lives get cluttered with age.  How many of us, buy new and never dispose of the old, because that one item does not take up much space, and someone may want it......?  It is left somewhere, and never dealt with......and then in comes another replacement, and that is well tucked in a drawer or a closet....

It is fine when you are 25, but as the years progress, it is not one or two extra cameras....it is several.

One great way to begin to declutter your life, is pick any one thing you own.......and create a treasure hunt...and take the proceeds from the sales of the duplicates and do something really fun....or buy something decadent, like a great box of chocolates or go to that broadway play you have wanted to see..take those dance lessons you always wanted to do..plan a family trip....hire a professional organizer, to help you, declutter your home.  In short, use that found money.......to make your life better.....

Now that is a Win/ Win proposition......Less stuff to care for.....in exchange for something Enjoyable!  You are worth it!!!

Smiles to you,

Where have I been since June 18th 2009?????

De-cluttering and de-cluttering and de-cluttering, did I mention DE-CLUTTERING.......OH MY.....

Just after I posted my last post, I got a call that my aunt had died...and I found out that I was excutrix of her estate.....and what a nightmare...of clutter. She was 88 1/2 years old. I have literally been sorting and pulling trash out of her home for the last 8 months or so from her home and
I am still not done. Still much to do in the basement.

This experience has changed my life, and has me hyper-focused on de-cluttering my own life, not just getting rid of stuff that I will never, ever use......but focused on streamlining my life, in general. We clutter our lives up in so many ways, from friends that do nothing but, take up our time and do not give back, participation in activities that we believe we need in our lives, that no longer fit our personal goals, and most importantly talking about doing things, and NOT DOING THEM.

I am happy to report, that I have been DOING de-cluttering, Not talking about wanting to do it. One thing per day, since the first of this year in my own home. I purchased a new vacuum cleaner, an electrolux oxygen, which I am happy to report was well worth the $400 plus sticker price shock that I felt in making this investment. Who wants to spend beaucoup bucks on a vacuum? UGGGGGGGGH! It is sucking up dust and clutter right and left.

I am paying people to fix things that have stopped me from moving forward, here and there, which has worked. I hate paying people to do things that I can do myself, but, when you get bogged down, overwhelmed, it can cause your life to get behind......cluttered. For example, I paid someone to repair my bathroom ceiling, nail pops, patch and paint it. I hate painting ceilings, so the bathroom remained stripped for two years, ready to go but, nothing happened. Can you relate? Once the ceiling was done, the room was painted in a few hours. All that remains is the curtains need to be rehung, and the accessories returned. It is now a functional room again! Pictures will be forthcoming.

Now I am working on decluttering my bedroom. I also had this person hang a cabinet above my toilet....it created space in my bathroom, which got more clutter off the counters. These two small projects, have me stoked, they have given me hope, and an emotional lift. All for about a $100. This money got me UNSTUCK......and did more for my emotional well being than a day at a healthspa....or a new dress or shoes would have done.

I have signed up on this new site, where you can find people to help you organize your life, give you personal advice, help you with those smaller chores that you will never have the time to do yourself and are keeping you stuck. Check it out.......

You can offer your services too, perhaps create a barter situation with some of the professionals there, they fix your toilet and you give them advice on their dating image, or cook them dinner.....its free to register and free to obtain services.....GO THERE!!!

Take the first step to de-clutter your life, today and if you can't take the step, hire someone to take that first step for you.....It just might get your juices going and get you UNSTUCK...

.....I am so angry at my aunt for leaving me knee deep in her mess with the responsibility to clean up her clutter, on top of my own. I can not tell you how hurt and frustrated to have been forced into this position, I am....Do not do this to your loved ones. Sell or dispose of the stuff you do not need, NOW.....or whatever money you intend to leave them will end up going to clean up crews, junk removers, unsavory dealers, etc. You know what you have, you are the best person to get the most $$$$$$ for that item, not your heirs, who do not have a clue and are overwhelmed with sadness, sentimentality and the sheer volume of your possessions and pressed for time.

Once the house is up for sale, and the estate taxes are done, I will again begin to post more frequently, with thoughts and ideas for de-cluttering your life as well as things you can do to help your loved ones after you are gone.

Wishing you a great day!
Smiles to YOU,

Overconsumption......is making me crazy!

Or when your things become your life.......instead of enhance it.

I went to bed at 8pm last evening, thoroughly exhausted, and not from having great sex, or a wild evening dancing to the music.........trying to figure out how to get rid of all my stuff faster.

My clutter and the need to dispose of it, IE. Downsizing, is ruining my life, or better said IS MY LIFE, these days and has been since last August 2008, since I made up my mind to do this. The fact that 9 months has past, and I have been working on this problem daily......and have barely made a dent is depressing me. How does one accumulate so much stuff, without ever thinking about disposing the stuff, one no longer needs? Where was my head?

I will admit this is the result of my digital camera having gotten lost in a room filled to the brim with clutter and after searching through it, still no camera to be found. Ironic that the tool I need the most to dispose of my clutter online, THE DIGITAL CAMERA.....has also been overtaken by my CLUTTER!!! LOL!

I have things, things, things.......and I NEED CASH. I need a full time Job with benefits. I need a real man in my life, that knows how to fix things and communicate in an healthy emotional manner. I need a groomer for my dogs. In short, I have needs that these things by the very existence will never fill. The big question is, where was my head when I thought that they would????

Perhaps, this is the lesson of this current financial crisis......defining what is important to our lives moving forward. I have always said, with upheaval comes healthy change, if you are flexible enough to take advantage of the opportunities it brings.

My Plan of Being this week, is focused on a more expedient plan of turning my overconsumption lifestyle into CASH and of course, the purchase of a NEW DIGITAL CAMERA....LOL!!!

I have been busy, ebaying.........

till my fingers have gotten sore and my mind has turned to mush...

I have no idea how people become power sellers without losing their minds.....taking photos, editing photos, writing ad copy for what you are selling, remembering all the do's and don'ts..is
overwhelming to me at times.
Look at these great mid century rooster candlesticks I have up on ebay this week. They had a bid within the first hour, I posted them. I have no idea where I found them or why I had never used them.....I am a total packrat.

So I took a break from putting up new things, my lack of sales reflected it. I have learned recently that those that post more, get more sales. They might have over a 1,000 items listed at any one moment in time. I struggle to keep over a 100 items up at once.

My goal this month, is going to have my item total reach 200 listings, or close to it. I have 200 listings in my bonanzle store.......and just fixed the google base search down load. Imperative to get sales, there. My sales there have been small and only 2 so far. It is a new venture...

But their booths are easy to set up.....I am thinking of setting one up just for craft items that I intend on setting up. This week, will post a lot of unused stamps on both ebay and bonanzle.

I have so much art pottery up there, waiting to be sold. I find higher priced items take much longer to sell with the economic climate.....There is still so much negativity all over the news and I find it overwhelming to listen to on a daily basis. In this age, where people everywhere write books and copy on the power of positive thinking, and seem to be selling it like crazy, I have been wondering do people just buy it and not read it? Or was it bought, but the concept is NOT SOLD?

I believe that you can find something positive in the worst situation.......if you look to do so. Admittedly, this is not always easy......but, if you want to find it, it will be there waiting for you.

Here's hoping that this economic mess, moves on and some sense of pleasure returns to all of our lives......

More Political and Financial Rhetoric when Does it End?

Gentlemen and Ladies, there are millions of people standing on the sidelines waiting for some direction.....they are known as the American public....and if YOU WOULD JUST MAKE UP YOUR MINDS....we might get out of this mess sooner rather than later....and a lot faster than the stimulus will move us along .....and faster than your debate is going to take.

What is it the american public can do to help you along? we gave our vote of confidence...after the speech last nite. Why are you ignoring our wishes, when we have told you Washington politicians, what we as a people want. Do it....or stop saying you are representing us.

We the people......are willing and able to help, IF YOU, Washington talking heads and media critics... would make a clear choice as to the way to go.......this Limbo is Hell!!!

The point is when you are down, the only place to go is UP!!!! right? If this is as
bad as they all say, why then do these people feel they have so much time to debate
and talk, instead of ACT?

Pick something and DO IT, already, WITH THE VIEW TO MAKE IT WORK? Am I alone in this feeling? I thought the definition of maturity, was knowing how to make wrong decisions, RIGHT? It is called self-confidence!!!!

I don't know about you, but these people have me feeling like We as a Nation have a gun to our heads....and if we do, then what does their indecision and Non- Action, have to say? Stand there and wait to get shot? What is missing from this picture?

Maybe the way we got in this mess was too much choice? TOO many decisions to be made, that seem far more difficult than they actually should be. When you have a group of people behind you, you do not stand there and do nothing.......you march forward......by putting one foot in front of the other. You can always stop and talk a mile up the road.....but MOVE....

I am finding listening to this rehetoric...a reason to take DRUGS.....is that why the biotech sector of the market is doing well? What does this say about our society.....they we can not make a choice in a financial disaster and move forward?

sorry, I just had to express my dissatisfaction. Who is going to lose their jobs next guys, when we all decide to turn off our radios and tv's and disconnect from this negativity.....?????

Is there any good news out there? Please tell me something is going well somewhere? When do we get to the point when we realize, it can not be all this bad, especially if everyone seems to believe they have plenty of time to debate which, direction to head.......??????

How much negativity is enough negativity......I am at my limit.....or damn close. How about you?

I am offering my blog, for your vote.........that says, guys and gals of Washington, MAKE a decision and MOVE ON....Move forward......I do not believe that I am alone.......am I?

I need my brain decluttered in order to declutter my home..........

Smiles to you,
